What's included in the charter?
Your captain, stewardess, fuel, pickup and drop-off fee, cleanup fee, cooler with ice and water, Bluetooth sound system, sunbeds, floating mat, towels, snorkeling masks, and full use of the yacht — including the living area, kitchen, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms.
Can I bring my own alcohol? (BYOB)
Yes. My Distraction is BYOB — you’re welcome to bring all the food and drinks you’d like. Glass containers are discouraged for safety.
Where does the yacht leave from?
A private marina in Miami. Exact departure instructions are shared before your reservation.
What is the captain fee and gratuity?
A licensed captain is required and paid separately at the dock at $75/hour. Gratuity is not included, and 12–20% is recommended based on your experience.
What happens if it rains or weather is bad?
Charters operate rain or shine. Cloudy weather, overcast skies, and light rain do not qualify as unsafe weather. If the captain determines that conditions are unsafe due to severe thunderstorms, strong winds, heavy rain, or unsafe boating conditions, your deposit will be placed on hold and issued as a credit toward a future reservation. The credit remains valid for one year.
What is the cancellation policy?
All deposits are non-refundable and secure your yacht, date, and time slot. If you cancel your reservation, the deposit remains non-refundable.
For rescheduling:
- 30+ days before the charter: No rescheduling fee.
- 3 weeks before the charter: Weekend reschedules (Friday–Sunday) incur a $100 fee.
- 2 weeks before the charter: Weekend reschedules (Friday–Sunday) incur a $200 fee.
- Week of the charter: Weekend reservations canceled during the week of the charter will forfeit the deposit.
Once a new charter date has been confirmed, cancellation of that new date will forfeit the deposit. Rescheduled dates must be used by the end of the calendar year and cannot fall on a holiday or major event. This rescheduling policy applies to weekend charters, with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday considered weekend days.
Can we swim during the charter?
Absolutely. The captain can anchor at one of Miami’s beautiful island spots so you can swim, relax, and enjoy the onboard floating mat.
Do you offer add-ons like decorations or catering?
Yes. We offer a variety of premium add-ons, including catering, custom decorations, and charcuterie boards to make your experience even more memorable. Jet ski rentals are available for charters of 4 hours or longer and can also be reserved in advance before your trip.
